Martin Odegaard is enjoying a meteoric rise in his career just two years after making his loan move from Real Madrid to Arsenal permanent.
The Norwegian was installed as Arsenal captain despite not being the most senior member of the squad when former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was removed due to disciplinary issues.
He is now leading Arsenal's charge for the first Premier League title since the Invincibles of the 2003/04 season and has now revealed his long admiration for the Gunners.
Odegaard reveals long admiration for Arsenal
It was easy for Odegaard to stay at Arsenal as he was a long-time admirer of the club. He branded his connection to Arsenal as weird and one he explained with a video game story in his episode with Players Tribune, which Daily Star quoted.

''I’ve always had this weird connection to Arsenal. It started long before I signed. I don’t even really know how to explain it, except with one little story,'' he said.
''I’ve never been that much into video games… but the one exception was FIFA. I mostly played Career Mode. The club I always chose to manage was Arsenal. They were my FIFA team.''
He was the youngest to feature in the game at 16 when he signed for Real Madrid in 2015.
''As I got older, around the 2015 edition, I started actually appearing in FIFA … so, naturally, one of the first things I did when I was pretending to be Arsene Wenger on Career Mode was buy myself,'' he added.
Odegaard: no limit for Arsenal
Atletico Madrid star on loan at Chelsea worried over future
FootballSpeaking ahead of the weekend game against Brentford, as quoted by Metro UK, he made a bold statement to rivals about what the team is capable of, as they will strive to bounce back from the loss to Everton.
''I will say this, if there’s anyone left who still doesn’t fully believe in this team, take it from me: there are no limits on what we can achieve,'' he said.
Fans slam Odegaard for overreacting
Sports Brief earlier reported that Arsenal fans slammed Odegaard for overreacting during their 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup.
The captain was lashing out at midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga for not closing down a City player charging at the Arsenal box.
The fans, however, have another idea and claimed the Norwegian lost his marker and incessantly committed a foul afterwards.
