Mamelodi Sundowns will be taking on the very best on the planet - at the junior level, that is - though this barely reduces the club's prestige.
The club's under-15 boys team has been invited to participate in the 2023 Kevin De Bruyne Cup.
They will take on the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, K.A.A. Gent, Club Brugge, Odense Boldklub and Palmeiras.
In a statement via video sent to the club, Kevin de Bruyne said:

"It's a proud moment for me to welcome Mamelodi Sundowns as the first African team to participate in the tournament. We are well aware of the success and values Mamelodi Sundowns stands for as a club, and I have no doubt their youth team will be a wonderful addition to the team roster.
KDB further expressed excitement at meeting the Sundows team and said he could not wait to meet new South African friends in June.
"Best of luck!" he added.
The club's Twitter account responded to de Bruyne by saying:
"We appreciate the invitation Champ," with the club's iconic pointing finger.
Sundowns stars attend cricket match
Several Sundowns players were in attendance for the first semi-final of the SA20 cricket competition, that was held at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
