Super Eagles attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi has stated emphatically that it was courage and talks from his parents that helped him overcome pressure from supporters while at Arsenal.
It was in the year 2004 that Iwobi teamed up with Arsenal when he was still in the primary school, and the Gunner almost released him twice when he was 14 and 16.
Then under former manager Arsene Wenger, Iwobi later defeated all obstacle as he went on to play for the first team winning the FA Cup.
After 100 games for the Gunners, Iwobi eventually left the Emirates Stadium for a move to Everton where he currently plays.

According to the report on Sun, the Nigerian disclosed that it was not easy for him at Arsenal as he faced many challenges.
Statement made by Iwobi
“When I played for Arsenal, a lot of people questioned my abilities. The criticisms were just too much.
“But I had my family who stood behind me. My dad kept telling me that I am at such a big club for a reason and I should keep working hard. He was instrumental in me overcoming such harsh feedbacks.''
Iwobi has been doing well at Everton since joining them.
