The Federation of Italian Football (FIGC) hit Juventus with a massive 15-point deduction after investigating their finances which found some dodgy deals, especially with players' salaries during the pandemic.
The club has revealed it will appeal the decision, even though the investigations are not over, as the counsel required more time to look into other cases. The club continues battling on in the league regardless.
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri has now revealed the new direction for the team's target this season after their initial efforts took a bad hit due to the sanction.
Allegri sets relegation benchmark
As reported by ASN, the Bianconeri beat Salernitana 3-0, their first league win since the sanction hit after previously drawing 3-3 against Atalanta and losing at home agonizingly to newcomers Monza.

Speaking after the win, as quoted by GIFN, Allegri claimed the Old Lady are only 14 points from the 40-points relegation benchmark, which is the club's new objective.
“I look at the reality of things. We are at 26 points: we have to reach 40, and then we’ll see. In the meantime, we have climbed positions. Now the goal is to reach the other side of the standings,” he said.
Juventus are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top four. They are 12 points above Verona in 18th while being 13 points behind Lazio, who are placed fourth, one point behind Jose Mourinho's Roma.

FootballJuventus prepare for summer clear-out
The chances of Juventus qualifying for the UEFA Champions League spot next season look increasingly difficult, despite only being 12 points behind with 17 games to go this season.
If a European spot is not secured, the club is willing to let go of big names to help deal with the economic effect it will have, as earlier reported by Sports Brief.
Angel Di Maria, Adrien Rabiot, Alex Sandro, Leandro Paredes and Juan Cuadrado are five of the big stars the club wants to lay off. Paul Pogba's situation is being assessed, having not played since his return due to injury.
