Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp boldly claimed the referee was trying to help Wrexham beat them in the FA Cup fourth-round replay.
Sharp was the star of the show on Tuesday, February 7, as he netted a crucial late second for his side, who won 3-1 to set up a showdown against Tottenham Hotspur in the next round.
In truth, it was a hard-fought victory for Sheffield, who were initially forced to a thrilling draw in the reverse fixture against the National League leaders.
Notably, Wrexham once again showed admirable spirit and consistently caused problems for Sheffield at the Racecourse Ground in Wales.

“Disrespectful”
After the game, Sharp spoke to media as he slammed Wrexham owners and players over alleged disrespect.
According to the veteran striker, Some Wrexham players went ahead of themselves by suggesting they would automatically face Tottenham in the next round.
"It was a great cup tie over two games. They played excellently.” He stated as quoted on Express.co.uk.
"I think they've been disrespectful before the game, thinking he was already through.”
He also appeared to suggest the referee was biased throughout the game in favour of the National League side.
"The referee was helping them all night as well, I don't think he gave me one foul all night tonight.

Kompany slams Man City critics
Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on former Man City ace Vincent Kompany’s fierce response to critics amid claims the club breached Financial Fair Play rules.
