Providing a fitness update on the French striker, the personal trainer said as quoted by Mirror: "Karim is getting better every day."

"He is at home, without having anything to do, and he goes down to the gym to train. The Frenchman's mentality involves improving every day."

Buttressing his claim about Benzema, the personal trainer compared the former teammate's recovery from injuries.

"Even Cristiano could not stand the training that Benzema does."

Despite the appraisal by Atalaya, Benzema remains a doubt for Real Madrid's first-leg Champions League tie against Liverpool.
