  • Premier League favourites Manchester City and Arsenal both faltered during match week 22
  • The two teams lost by a 1-0 scoreline during their respective fixtures, with Arsenal suffering a shock defeat at Everton
  • Be that as it may, a new prediction by a supercomputer has projected there won't be many changes in the Premier League table at the end of the season

A supercomputer has revealed how the final Premier League table could look after both Arsenal and Man City lost their respective fixtures of match week 22.

Both City and Arsenal have emerged as the clear frontrunners for this season's Premier League crown, with just five points separating them at the top.

However, the two teams faltered in the title race over the weekend as they were stunned by a similar scoreline.

The Sun reports the Gunners were humbled 1-0 earlier on Saturday by relegation battlers Everton at Goodison Park.

City had a golden chance to reduce the gap between them and leaders Arsenal to just two points, only for them to go on and lose 1-0 at Tottenham on Saturday.

Supercomputer's EPL prediction

A supercomputer has now predicted how things could pan out after the two teams dropped points.

According to a simulated prediction made by Betting Expert supercomputer for the remainder of the season, Arsenal need not worry as they are on course to finish at the top.

The projections have backed the north Londoners to go on and win the league with 86.9 points, seven points ahead of City, who may have to settle for a second-place finish.

Man United, who currently sit third on the log have been tipped to retain the position with 73.0 points, with Newcastle completing the top-four podium ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

The prediction has given Liverpool and Chelsea no chance of sealing a European football spot, with the two teams projected to finish eighth and ninth respectively.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the table, Everton, Bournemouth, and Southampton have been predicted to get relegated.

Neville's Premier League prediction

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Gary Neville has rated Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League after both Man City and Arsenal dropped points over the weekend.

Manchester United moved to within just seven points of league leaders Arsenal after their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The Gunners suffered a title blow on Saturday after they were stunned 1-0 by Everton at Goodison Park.

Manchester City suffered a similar slip-up on Sunday during their trip to Tottenham where they lost 1-0 courtesy of Harry Kane's solitary goal.

Despite the two teams faltering, Gary Neville does not see the Red Devils challenging for the Premier League title.
