Nomvula Chenene disappeared without a trace on 10 December, with worry about her disappearance increasing by the hour.

The 28-year-old Nomvula is the younger sister of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Bennett Chenene. He has since put up a reward of R10 000 for any information that can lead to his sister being found.

According to the Daily Sun, Chenene believes that Nomvula is alive, saying:

"My mother told me that my sister went out with her friends to a nearby tavern, but she never came back. Many people have come to my home since, and some called to let us know that they have seen my sister at shopping complexes and at an open field. We went to various prophets who told us that my sister is still alive."

Bennett unsettlingly added that because Nomvula is lesbian, something bad could happen because of her sexual orientation.

"We get calls every week that she was seen in areas such as Orange Farm, Sebokeng and Palm Springs, and our efforts in finding her have never materialised anything," added Chenene.

Captain Teboho Lephoto, a police spokesperson, told the publication that a missing person's case had been opened and that any information that can help in finding Chenene must be taken to the nearest police station.
