Manuel Neuer is in serious trouble and could possibly lose his captaincy at Bayern Munich following his recent outburst criticizing the Bundesliga club.
Neuer had granted an interview that sparked outrage among Bayern Munich’s top officials after he blasted the club for sacking long-serving goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic.
According to Goal, club icon Lothar Matthaus has now called for an armband change at the club as he says Neuer is no longer acceptable as Bayern Munich captain.

“Manuel Neuer is no longer acceptable as Bayern captain! He skied negligently and is now giving an unauthorized interview in which, he vehemently attacks the club. Hadn't he said a few weeks ago that no one was above the club? And now this.”
Neuer had previously incurred the wrath of Bayern officials after the goalkeeper injured himself while skiing during holidays which ruled him out for the rest of the 2022/23 season.
Neuer never to play for Bayern again
Meanwhile, Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will almost certainly never play for Bayern Munich again following his recent outburst attacking the Bundesliga champions, Bild reports.
Club legends have lambasted Neuer for his outspoken remarks, and CEO Oliver Kahn has warned that he will talk to the veteran goalkeeper very explicitly about his public issues.
Toni Tapalovic who is Neuer's close friend and was best man at the goalkeeper’s wedding, was fired by Bayern Munich because he was suspected of leaking information.

Club director, Hasan Salihamidzic is the latest on the Bavarians' board to criticise Neuer over his recent outburst, where he described the sacking of goalkeeping coach, Toni Tapalovic as the most brutal thing he’s experienced in his career.
Salihamidzic has said he expected a different kind of behaviour from Neuer, owing to the fact he is the club skipper.
