Kevin Maussi Martins, the son of former Super Eagles and Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins, has signed his first professional contract with Serie A club, Monza.
Before making a move to the Italian top flight, the young striker had featured for the academies of AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Obafemi had a successful career in the Serie A, where he won the title with Inter Milan and also the Coppa Italia twice before he departed.
His 18-year-old son is now on the verge of following in his footsteps and has also made his debut in the Italian league, in Monza's 2-0 win over Padova.

Obefami, who was one of the best strikers in his playing years, was overjoyed at his son signing a deal with the Italian club and congratulated him on his Instagram page.

Musa reacts to Maussi signing
Reacting to Maussi's move to Monza, Kwara FA Chairman, Idris Musa explained to Sports Brief that he would advise the NFF chiefs to ensure the youngster plays for Nigeria and not the European nation.
''We all know that kind of striker Martins was in the Super Eagles and I'm sure his son would take after his father. I will make sure that the NFF make him play for Nigeria and not Italy.''

Small Doctor calls Obafemi Martins
Sports Brief earlier reported on a video showing Small Doctor telling former Super Eagles striker, Martins to send his account number.
The musician placed a call to the ex-Inter Milan player and claimed he would send him a large amount of money.
Martins was heard laughing when Small Doctor asked for his details, telling the 26-year-old that he would use the money to buy groundnuts.
