According to The Sun, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was offered the chance to buy the club as he already invests in it.

However, the Gypsy King is set to lose out, with Howse confirming Johal is already in the process of becoming the club's new owner.

"Sarbjot, through his company Sarb Capital, has recently purchased equity in the club, injecting more than useful income into us," Howse revealed via the BBC.
"I am, along with Sarbjot, keen that the process should now move on at pace to come to a positive conclusion," he added.

Who is Sarbjot Johal?

The Guardian reports that Johal is listed as the chairman of Sarb Capital, a private equity firm.

The youngster is further recorded as a director of Vitanic Limited, a company incorporated as Vitanic Group in May 2019.

Should the Morecambe takeover plan see the light of day, Johal will become the youngest club owner in the EFL.

Meanwhile, the imminent takeover comes at a time The Shrimps are enduring a frustrating campaign in League One.

The Derek Adams-tutored side are currently placed 21st on the standings with 27 points.

Leeds owner in trouble

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani is in trouble with the Yorkshire club's fans after he liked a tweet saying the club were not supposed to beat the English champions.

Radrizzani is active on Twitter, occasionally expressing his views after matches, but he crossed the line for the tweet he liked after their 3-1 loss.

Erling Haaland, who was born in Leeds in 2001, scored twice as the Whites were taken down.
