FootballFans All Say the Same Thing After Watching Footage of Casemiro Red Card
- Manchester United fans are adamant Casemiro should not have been sent off against Crystal Palace
- The Brazilian was given a straight red card for violent conduct in a moment of madness between the rival players at Old Trafford
- United held on for a 2-1 victory to move to within eight points of league leaders Arsenal
A fierce debate has emerged online on whether Casemiro should have been sent off over alleged violent conduct during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, February 4.
United took control of the game from the first half thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
Going into the final 20 minutes of the game, United looked fairly comfortable, but one moment completely changed the complexion of the context against Patrick Vieira’s side.
It all came from an incident which saw Jeffrey Schlupp push United’s Antony into an advertising hoarding, and things got heated soon after, with practically all the players getting involved.

Referee Andre Marriner brandished a yellow card for Schlupp, and that seemed to be all until the VAR intervened and caught the incident involving Casemiro and Will Hughes.
The 30-year old was subsequently sent off, which will be a big blow for United, who also missed him for the Arsenal game through suspension.
“Ayew’s incident was worse”
On social media, online sleuths who watched footage of the melee noted Palace striker Jordan Ayew also had a form of violent misconduct.
Fans who witnessed varying angles of the incident instantly went on social media to lament:

“The club really need appeal to overtune Casemiro Red Card, because it was really unfair decision by Ref.”
Which games will Casemiro miss?
A straight red card means Casemiro will miss three domestic matches, as per the Premier League rules.
This means he will miss the double header against Leeds United on Wednesday February 8 and Sunday, February 12, as cited on Manchester Evening News.
United will also have to face Leicester City at Old Trafford on February 19 without the services of the Brazilian.
Since the red card does not affect continental football, Casemiro is eligible to play the Europa League game against Barcelona on Thursday, February 16.

The current AS Roma boss made the phrase famous when he was Chelsea's boss during his second spell at Stamford Bridge.
