- Africa is said to be in for a very long wait to host another FIFA World Cup
- That is the belief of ex-FIFA boss Sepp Blatter during a recent interview
- Blatter believes Africa won't host the Mundial within his lifetime at least
It's not time for Africa, or at least, not anytime soon.
That is the opinion of former FIFA president, Sepp Blatter regarding the next time a men's FIFA World Cup tournament will be held on the continent.
The first and only one thus far was the remarkable one South Africa hosted in 2010.
Speaking to respected media personality, Robert Marawa on radio station 947, Blatter said:

"Africa and South Africa organised the best-ever World Cup because it was done with a big heart and everyone was happy. Unfortunately, there won't be another world cup in Africa in my life."
Blatter stated that with 48 teams in the world, it would take more than one country to organise the Mundial, which he did not seem to agree with.
"The movements taking place in football are towards Asia and Arabic countries because there is a lot of money. Europe must never forget what they did to Africa with the colonies. So it’s time to pay something back. To give another World Cup there would be nice."
The 86-year-old, among other things, said the Netflix documentary FIFA Uncovered was a 'hit job' by the current football administration on previous officials. He was one, serving from 1998 to 2015.
The full interview can be found here.
Blatter was speaking amid South Africa being in the final stages of formally bidding to host the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, as reported by Goal.

FootballLocal Netflix subscribers were subjected to unpleasant viewing recently, Sports Brief has reported.
The web show company released FIFA Uncovered, which details the dodgy activities taking place within world football's governing body for what feels like forever.
South Africa features prominently in the documentary, particularly concerning the unsuccessful 2006 and the successful 2010 FIFA World Cup bids.
'North Korea could host tournament'
Sports Brief also reported on FIFA president, Gianni Infantino saying he is open to North Korea hosting the World Cup, in order to 'unite the world'.
Infantino, who is set to be re-elected for a third consecutive term, reckons any nation is eligible to host the global football tournament.
Last year's hosts, Qatar came under serious scrutiny owing to the Middle East nation's numerous allegations of human rights violations and strong homophobic culture.
