Barcelona midfielder Gavi will be back where it all started as Barcelona travel to face the 18-year-old’s hometown club Real Betis as they continue their La Liga title push.
Gavi who has won the Golden Boy award which is given to the best young player in the world has become a key player for La Blaugrana under Xavi.
The 18-year-old however has been on Barcelona’s radar after setting an amazing record with Real Betis when he was just nine years old playing for Real Betis’ youth team.

The year before Gavi joined Barcelona’s La Masia, the 18-year-old scored a whopping 95 goals in a year for Real Betis' academy.
The mercurial midfielder also scored four goals against Barcelona when he came up against the Catalan giant’s youth team during a tournament in Portugal in April of 2014.
Gavi registered to Barcelona’s first-team
Meanwhile, Barcelona have officially completed Gavi’s registration to the first team, and the same has been announced by the club on Twitter, Barca Universal reports.
Earlier, a Spanish court ruled in favour of Barcelona and thus forced La Liga to register the 18-year-old midfielder’s new contract with the senior team.
Gavi has made 18 appearances for Barcelona in this season’s La Liga, providing two assists and averaging 1.2 key passes per game for the runaway La Liga leaders.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona has gotten victory over La Liga in court following the ongoing tussle over the registration of 18-year-old midfielder Gavi.
The Catalan giants had dragged the league body to a commercial court after La Liga denied their request to register Gavi to the club’s first team because of their ‘expected’ monetary deficit for the summer.
Barcelona can now register Gavi in its first team after winning the legal battle against La Liga following the judge’s ruling on Tuesday, January 31.
