- Antony has now sent out a message to fans, pledging to improve his game
Manchester United winger Antony has promised Manchester United fans he would work to improve his game amid a storm of criticism.
The 22-year-old has been the target of the press and pundits, who have been critiquing his game since he made the mega-money move from Ajax in the summer.
His five goals in 19 appearances for United have done little to help his credentials, with the latest jibe coming from Darren Bent, who has labelled him a “YouTube footballer” on TalkSport.
United legend Rio Ferdinand also had his say, as he lamented on Antony’s apparent inability to beat a man, despite his Brazilian roots.

Antony will surely have heard some of the criticism as he took to social media on Tuesday, January 24 with a message to fans, and it was a positive one.
Instead of hitting out at his critics, Antony instead sought to reassure the Manchester United faithful, saying:
“It has always been a dream to be here, and I will give all I have to honor this club because we are stronger together!”
Despite criticism in recent weeks, Antony has shown glimpses of promise in his months as a United player.
Notably, he has proven to have a lethal left foot, and was responsible for scoring a stunning goal in the Manchester derby earlier in the season.
