  • Arsenal have been in spectacular shape under Mikel Arteta this season
  • The north Londoners have dropped just seven points after 19 games
  • Their incredible run has seen them collect 50 points so far this season
  • Apparently, that is not the best start to a season in the history of the Premier League

Arsenal is currently the most in-form team in the Premier League after a bright start to the 2022/23 season.

The Gunners have lost just once in 19 outings, with their last defeat coming back in September at the hands of rivals Man United.

From the 19 fixtures, Mikel Arteta's men have collected an incredible 16 wins and two draws, stunning United 3-2 in their most recent clash.

Arsenal's impressive run has them topping the charts with 50 points, five ahead of second-placed Man City.

According to The Sun, the run is the club's best start to a Premier League season, eclipsing their famous 2003/04 Invincibles team.

At the time, the north Londoners racked up 45 points after 19 matches under Arsene Wenger and went on to secure the domestic crown.

EPL team with the best start to a season

Incredibly, despite Arsenal's impressive run, they do not hold the record for the best start to a season.

That honour belongs to Man City and Liverpool, who collected 55 points from 19 fixtures at this stage of the season in 2017/18 and 2019/20 respectively.

Chelsea is the other side who have had an equally good start after they managed 52 points from the same number of games during the 2005/06 season.

In 2018/19, Liverpool managed 51 points in a season that Man City went on to claim the league title on the final day of the season with a 4–1 win at Brighton after finishing on 98 points following a run of 14 wins.

The ranking effectively places Arsenal fourth among the teams that have enjoyed a good start to the campaign in the first half of the season.

Nketiah warns Premier League defenders

The shift in mentality that Zinchenko has infused in the Arsenal squad is already rubbing on the squad, as Sports Brief earlier reported, Eddie Nketiah sends message to PL defenders.

The striker, deputizing for injured Gabriel Jesus, has scored in every game except Newcastle since he was trusted to lead the line for the Gunners.

He drew Arsenal level against Manchester United yesterday and also narrowly beat the offside trap to score the winner in the 90th minute and now provides a good headache for Arteta when Jesus returns.
