Uli Hoeness is not optimistic that Bayern Munich can sign England forward, Harry Kane in the summer despite their reported interest in the Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to the reigning Bundesliga champions, with reports suggesting the Bavarians could make a bid for the 30-year-old forward in the summer.

According to 90MIN, Hoeness - who resigned as Bayern Munich’s president in 2019 - disclosed that Kane will not make the switch to the Allianz Arena for financial reasons.

"He's a great player, but that's an order of magnitude. Manchester City got out at €140-million, €150-mil. I can't imagine that these are amounts that Bayern Munich wants or can pay."

Kane, who is yet to win a single senior trophy with Spurs, is in the final 18 months of his contract which is due to expire in the summer of 2024.

Meanwhile, Kane is allegedly open to the prospect of signing a new deal with Tottenham, as the 30-year-old forward wants to win a title with the north London club, Goal reports.

The English forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich waiting to snap up his services in the summer.

While the Three Lions captain has not held contract talks with his club since August 2021, the plan is reportedly to re-open discussions once the January transfer window closes.
