  • Bukayo Saka borrowed a leaf from Marcus Rashford's style of celebration after scoring against Manchester United
  • Rashford had scored earlier and did his usual celebration which Saka used after scoring on the other end
  • The same styles of celebrations are similar to previous taunts of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Was Bukayo Saka mocking Marcus Rashford? Fans were sharply divided on the Arsenal star's choice of celebration after scoring a stunner against Manchester United.

Saka scored the second goal to give Arsenal the lead after Eddie Nketiah had cancelled out Rashford's beautiful opener.

The 21-year-old was allowed to weave his way to the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a ferocious shot which flew past a scampering David de Gea.

He then dashed towards the corner flag pointing to his temple as Rashford has done since the World Cup break. The Manchester United star scored his 9th goal in 9 consecutive appearances and rushed to the away end pulling off what is now becoming his signature celebration.

Messi vs Ronaldo

Saka's celebration revived memories between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the best footballers the world has ever seen during their days at Barcelona and Real Madrid.

It started with Messi taking off his shirt after scoring at Real Madrid's home ground Santiago Bernabeu and holding it up to the fans. The following season, Ronaldo scored at Camp Nou and returned the favour by holding his shirt to the crowd as well.

Fans online remain divided on whether Saka was sending Rashford a message or it was just a subtle celebration.

@buttyghetto said:

"I don't think Bukayo Saka did that celebration to troll Marcus Rashford, he probably did it to support his friend."

MikjjRash said:

"Am I the only one who is annoyed at Bukayo Saka for that celebration? Felt like an insult tbh"

New images show Nketiah's goal was valid

Sports Brief has also reported that new images have shown that Eddie Nketiah's last-gasp strike to win the game for Arsenal was a valid goal.

Nketiah's second for the night which ultimately proved to be the winner was marred in controversy for a possible offside. New signing Leandro Trossard released Oleksandr Zinchenko through on goal who in turn fed Martin Odegaard in the penalty area.

Odegaard's feeble attempt on goal was turned in by Nketiah. Preliminary images showed the incident in question was whether Nketiah was onside. The Video Assistant Referee confirmed the Englishman was onside.
