The experienced South African Football Association whistelman was tragically killed in a car accident in the early hours of Saturday near his hometown of Botshabelo in the Free State. Images showed his Volkswagen mangled and warped into a truck that he had collided with, though details of the accident were still sketchy at the time of publication.
The Premier Soccer League said in a statement acknowledging Molelekoa's passing on social media:
"The PSL is saddened by the passing of match official, Moeketsi Molelekoa. The League sends heartfelt condolences to the Molelekoa family, SAFA, and the football fraternity at large."

Referee confesses to wife's murder
A respected Eswatini referee has confessed to the brutal slaying of his wife.
Referee Lucky ‘Makalakalane’ Ndlangamandla, a seasoned professional in the Eswatini Premier League, was arrested and charged with the murder of his wife on Wednesday morning. The Swazi Observer covered the gruesome details of the killing, stating that Ndlangamandla stabbed the unnamed woman more than 20 times, in what is believed to have been a fit of rage.
According to witnesses, the couple were involved in a heated argument in the early hours of that fateful morning before the incident occurred. The 45-year-old is reported to have confessed to the killing according to another article from the same publication.
