Leicester City Furious as Man Flies Drone Over Training Ground Ahead of Brighton Clash, Video

Leicester City was left furious after an unidentified man flew a camera-bearing drone over their training complex, during preparations for their weekend game against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The drone could have captured important parts of the Foxes' tactical drills ahead of the weekend clash, which are meant to be protected as this could expose the team's game plan.

The video has now made it onto social media, much to the annoyance of the club, who don't know how far the footage could have done from the platforms it is already on, as reported by Indian Express.

As first reported by The Sun, which spoke to a source at the club, a security guard at the club's training facilities approached the man, who insisted he would not leave as he was permitted to fly a drone in the area.

“The man was insistent he wouldn’t leave. He filmed drills, which are supposed to be kept confidential. They’re a key part of team tactics and opponents finding out about them before a game would be a huge problem,” the source said.

It is not the first time a spying incident has occurred in English football. Marcelo Biesla's Leeds United spied on Frank Lampard's Derby County in 2019, ahead of their Championship playoff semi-final, as reported by BBC Sport.

Leeds was found guilty and slapped with a £200,000 fine, with the incident prompting a new rule by the English Football League (EFL).

This rule prohibits teams from viewing opposition training in the 72 hours immediately before a fixture, unless invited to do so, as reported by Guardian.

Iheanacho urged to leave Leicester

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been told to leave Leicester City for regular playing time by a former Liverpool player.

Danny Murphy advised Iheanacho, who has been struggling to get game time under Brendan Rodgers this season, to quit the 2016 Premier League champions for Everton.

The Toffees are struggling on the pitch and are in the relegation zone, and could do with the Nigerian's goal scoring prowess to help preserve their league status.
