Thwihli Thwahla placed him on suspension in August by senior management following his rather perplexing decisions during the off-season that were made arbitrarily without permission.
The Daily Sun reported that Mnisi confirmed to the publication that he had amicably parted ways with the club, saying in a statement:
"It is my pleasure to announce to the world of sports in general and the football village, in particular, my exit from Royal AM with immediate effect after my return from special leave on the 28th of December 2022. I thank the Royal AM FC for the opportunity it afforded me to showcase my talent in football administration.

The publication pressed him on whether he was suspended by owner Shauwn Mkhize or not, something he insisted was 'special leave'.
