Super Falcons Coach Randy Waldrum Speaks Ahead of 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

• Randy Waldrum has stated that the Super Falcons of Nigeria will do well at the FIFA Women’s World Cup

• Waldrum says his squad has an abundance of talents and will go far at the tournament

The head coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons Randy Waldrum has disclosed that his team can go far at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Waldrum is confident that the players in the current squad have the capacity to do really well at the tournament billed to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Nigeria qualified for the tournament following their win over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations.

Rasheedat Ajibade scored the vital goal that earned them the World Cup ticket last summer.

They will now participate, having qualified for all editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup – a record shared with only six other teams globally.

In a chat with thenff.com, Waldrum said:

“I am confident and realistic about this. We have an abundance of talents in the squad and I am convinced they can go that far. This particular team is very talented and has the same ability to go far in the tournament, just like the Class of 1999.

“To be able to achieve this and even more, we need to have all players in fit condition, healthy and most importantly have enough time together. If we have enough time together, we have the ability to be successful at the World Cup.”

Sports Brief earlier reported that the Super Falcons' impressive goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has been spotted with an exotic Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Sharing her New Year message to her Instagram followers, the pretty shot-stopper was seen in front of a white Rolls-Royce as she posed for a photograph.

At age 19, she was part of the squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019. She became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at the tournament, following Nigeria’s 2-0 win over South Korea in their opening game.
