Thomas Tuchel may have been sacked at Chelsea, but his name and some of his past comments are still hovering over the club, even amid the ongoing crisis and poor run of results.

The Champions League winner was sacked for not aligning with the long-term vision of the club, and not for the results which were obviously in decline in his final days.

After the 4-0 pre-season loss to Arsenal, Tuchel said Chelsea had the same issues because it had the same players, as quoted by ESPN FC.

His comment was not well received by the Blues hierarchy or fans - but now it is proving true.

As reported by BBC Sports, the German had also expressed concern over the commitment of the players by being uncertain the team would be ready for the season.

''The worrying part is that the level of commitment physically and mentally for this match... I cannot guarantee we will be ready in two weeks,'' he said at the time.

Fans still believe in Potter

Potter may have steadied the ship in his earlier days, and even topped the Champions League group after a double header 5-0 win over AC Milan, but the team is back to where they were under the former manager.

Some sections of the club's fans reportedly accompanied Tuchel's replacement, Graham Potter to his car after the match against Fulham.

They are said to have expressed support and belief for the Englishman, while asking that he changes the squad in agreement with a comment made by the German in his final days at Stamford Bridge.

Silva questions Chelsea players' commitment

Sports Brief earlier reported that Thiago Silva's wife, Belle questioned commitment of Chelsea players, and suggested having more like her husband in the team would solve the problems.
