FootballCarragher Responds to Troll From Man United Fan Over Imminent Arrival of Weghorst
- Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Dutch striker Wout Weghorst from Burnley
- Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher criticised Lisandro Martinez's height when he was signed
- He has now been trolled back with Weghorst who is a taller player at 6ft 4in
Manchester United are a medical and official announcement away from announcing the loan signing of Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst, who would cut short his Besiktas loan and join United from Burnley.
Former Liverpool player and Premier League pundit Jamie Carragher has now been trolled back for his comments on World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez's height, which he claimed can not work in the Premier League.
Carragher found the troll of his comments rather funny and responded with clap and laugh emojis on Twitter, while United fans continue to await the imminent confirmation of Weghorst.
What Carragher said about Martinez
Carragher on punditry with Sky Sports as quoted by Mirror expressed skepticism at how successful the former Ajax defender will be in the Premier League, being the shortest centre back in the league at 5ft 9in.

“He looks a little too short to play centre-back in the Premier League. There is nothing you can do about a height disadvantage when forced into continuous aerial challenges.” he said.
How Man Utd fans responded
A verified Man Utd fan account Stretford Paddock on Twitter made fun of Carragher's words by uploading his picture on Sky Sports duty with the caption ‘I think Weghorst is too tall to play in the Premier League. I just don’t see how this can work.’
The former England international understood the joke and quoted it two clap and laugh emoji, making fun of his own troll by the Red Devils fans.

FootballSneijder questions Weghorst transfer
Carragher may have taken his troll for fun but one man is already laying into Manchester United potential striker Wout Weghorst before he's even officially announced or kicks a ball for the club.
As Sports Brief earlier reported, Dutch legend Wesley Sneijder questioned United signing Weghorst, who he believes is not the striker they need.
The former Inter Milan forward also claimed there are about 300 of such players in the Premier League that Erik Ten Hag can choose from, to tell the extent which he feels he is unnecessary.
