  • Mbappe currently has two years left on his PSG contract but the 24-year-old is rumoured to be unhappy with the French champions hierarchy

Real Madrid are set to renew their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe after missing out on the 24-year-old last summer.

Mbappe had made a verbal agreement to join the La Liga champions but made a U-turn on his decision to pen a new three-year deal with PSG which infuriated the Real Madrid hierarchy.

Real Madrid reportedly wants the Paris Saint-Germain star to push for the deal by requesting a transfer request to leave the Ligue 1 champions.

Secondly, the La Liga club wants Mbappe to lower his wage demands before any deal can be agreed upon in the next summer transfer window.

Mbappe receives Real Madrid backing over Zidane row

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has joined Kylian Mbappe in denouncing remarks made by Noel Le Graet, the president of the France FA, on Zinedine Zidane, Daily Mirror reports.

Mbappe had claimed that Le Graet had disrespected Zidane after he stated that he "did not care" that the Brazilian FA had contacted the former Ballon d’Or winner about a possible appointment.

Didier Deschamps' extension of his contract with the French national team to 2026 put an end to the rumors that Zinedine Zidane would succeed him as manager of France.

Real Madrid to forfeit Mbappe signing

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Kylian Mbappe may just not get the opportunity to play for Real Madrid, as they are having second thoughts about signing the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Mbappe turned down an opportunity to sign for Los Blancos last summer, but Real Madrid re-ignited their interest in the 24-year-old after his amazing World Cup heroics.

Real Madrid are now pondering sacrificing their push to sign Mbappe, to accommodate bringing superstars like Jude Bellingham and Endrick in.
