Cristiano Ronaldo has auctioned off one of his five Ballon d'Or awards to charity.

Ronaldo's Ballon d'Or was purchased at the auction by Israel's richest man and philanthropist Idan Ofer.

The cherished prize donated was an 'extra' replica which Ronaldo requested when he won the 2013 Ballon d'Or.

Meanwhile, the 'real' award is still currently on show at the CR7's personal museum in Madeira, per MARCA.

Ronaldo last won the Ballon d'Or in 2017 and has been chasing the sixth, which will prove elusive on the back of his transfer to Saudi giants Al-Nassr.

He is set to make his Al-Nassr bow on January 19 in a Saudi all-star team against Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain.

CR7 ranked most marketable player

Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten the world's top sporting personalities to be named the most marketable athlete on the planet.

The Manchester United icon is widely considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, thanks to his football achievements during his illustrious career of more than 20 years.

The veteran striker has thus far lifted seven league titles across the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A, as well as five Champions Leagues and Euro 2016.

Ronaldo gets worst-ever Ballon d'Or ranking

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo got his worst-ever ranking of the Ballon d'Or in 2022, with the legendary Portuguese forward finishing 20th.

The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend last won the award in 2017. With 'Father Time' catching up with the iconic footballer, it is unlikely he will scoop the prestigious award again.

In 2022, Ronaldo was nominated for an incredible 18th time, but individual and club form meant he was unlikely to pip Karim Benzema.
