FootballPeseiro Urged To Invite Folarin Balogun To the Super Eagles
- Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has been enjoined to invite Arsenal player Folarin Balogun
- The 21-year-old striker is currently playing on loan for Reims in France and he has scored ten goals this season
- Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who has been leading the attack for Nigeria recently has also netted ten times so far
Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Andrew Aikhoumogbe, has urged Super Eagles gaffer, Jose Peseiro, to do everything possible for him to convince Folarin Balogun to play for Nigeria.
Balogun, who has been impressive this season for Reims in the Ligue 1 has been representing England in the youth teams, but he can still switch allegiance if he wants.
The 21-year-old was born in the United States to Nigerian parents but grew up in England which means that he can choose any of these three nations.
At the moment, Super Eagles coach, Peseiro, is not having issues with strikers to select for coming games as the likes of Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi and Paul Onuachu are in good forms in Europe.

According to the report on Soccernet, Aikhoumogbe explained that Balogun will do well in the Nigerian team if he is brought in.
Statement made by Aikhoumogbe
“If you ask me, bringing Balogun to the senior national team fold will definitely bolster the Super Eagles.
“He will be a great addition and will create stiff competition in the Super Eagles attack.
“No doubt, Balogun will complement Osimhen’s effort in the attack and of course, Nigerians should be expecting goals from all angles once the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers resume.”
Balogun wants Super Eagles
Previously, Sports Brief had reported how Folarin Balogun made it clear that he wants to play for the Super Eagles and not the Three-Lions of England despite playing for youth teams of the Europeans.
