Portuguese sensation, Cristiano Ronaldo has been pictured with Cameroon superstar, Vincent Aboubakar as the strikers ‘exchanged the baton’ at Al-Nassr.

After Manchester United terminated his contract in December, the veteran opted to move to the Saudi Professional League by signing a mega money deal with the Riyadh-based outfit.

Aboubakar joined the club in 2021 and made 34 league appearances, scoring 12 goals, before he was asked to leave following Ronaldo's arrival.

His exit from the club arose after Al-Nassr was unable register their new star, due to the number of foreigners already at the club.

The 30-year-old was brutally sacked in order to pave the way for the registration of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who was unveiled by the club earlier this week.

SPORTbible reports that Al-Nassr needed to 'clear up space' in their squad after reaching full capacity for foreign players, hence arriving at the decision to part ways with Aboubakar.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo and the Cameroonian were pictured together as they shared smiles while posing for a photo.

Fans have continued to react to the situation. One said:

“He was the star and when CR7 came, his candle burnt out. All his comments about CR7 were not in good faith. You could see a sour grappling player.”

Another added:

“All the best to Vincent .this is a step in the right direction for him.”

A fan wrote:

“Vincent Aboubakar has left Al Nassr by mutual consent he had been interested in making a return to Europe after getting good offers.”

Ronaldo blamed for Aboubakar’s exit

Sports Brief earlier reported that football fans across the micro-blogging app, Twitter have expressed their disappointment with Al-Nassr's decision to part ways with Aboubakar.

The Cameroon star, who scored an iconic goal at the 2022 World Cup, was expected to form a lethal partnership with Ronaldo following the latter's move to the Middle East.

Amid the ongoing situation at Al-Nassr, many football fanatics - particularly on the African continent - took to social media to register their displeasure at Aboubakar's departure.
