  • Graham Potter is a man under siege following Chelsea's continued poor run of results
  • The former Brighton boss has seen the Blues win just one match from their last eight
  • The disastrous run of form has seen a section of fans call for his sacking as manager

Chelsea boss, Graham Potter has found himself on the receiving end in recent weeks after leading the Blues to a woeful run of form.

The west Londoners have managed just one win in eight fixtures across all competitions, with their most recent outing ending in a 4-0 embarrassing defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup.

The defeat came just days after the reigning English champions sunk Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, to deal them a massive blow in their top-four bid.

But who could replace the under fire Chelsea boss? Sports Brief takes a look at five world-class managers who can succeed the Englishman.

5. Brendan Rodgers

According to The Sun, citing Betfair, Brendan Rodgers is among some of the managers touted to succeed Potter. Rodgers traces his managerial roots to Chelsea, having managed the club's reserves between 2006 and 2008.

4. Diego Simeone

Diego Simeone has enjoyed an illustrious managerial career since taking charge of Atletico Madrid in 2011. The 52-year-old has won La Liga twice, the UEFA Europa League twice, the UEFA Super Cup twice, plus the Copa del Rey once.

3. Thomas Tuchel

Despite parting company with Chelsea four months ago, Thomas Tuchel is yet to land a new gig. The German enjoyed significant success during his short stint at Stamford Bridge.

2. Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino is believed to be the odds-on favourite to replace Potter at Stamford Bridge. The former Tottenham boss is out of work after he was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain.

1. Zinedine Zidane

And final on this list is Zinedine Zidane. The highly-experienced French tactician was touted to take charge of the France national team, but that opportunity slipped from his hands after Didier Deschamps's deal was extended. Zidane enjoyed an illustrious managerial stint with Real Madrid, winning them an incredible 11 trophies.

Fans sing Tuchel's name

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea fans were heard chanting Thomas Tuchel's name, during their FA Cup hammering by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

A section of Chelsea fans, who turned up to cheer their club on at the away end, chose to express their disappointment with the team's performance by singing about the former boss.

Tuchel spent 18 months at the helm of affairs at Stamford Bridge, before he was shown the door back in September 2022.
