A beautiful old photo of Kylian Mbappe and Zinedine Zidane has resurfaced online, amid the severe storm created by French FA president, Noël Le Graët.

Le Graët irked French football stars and fans when he targeted Zidane with some 'clumsy' comments. Mbappe was among the first prominent stars to lash out at the football chief.

The head honcho had just extended Didier Deschamps's contract as Les Bleus' boss until 2026. Zidane was reportedly eyeing the job, but Deschamps exceeded expectations at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and was rewarded with an extended stay.

Le Graët was then quizzed on whether Zidane had been considered, but he retorted that he 'wouldn't have picked up the phone' even if the former Real Madrid manager had called.

He has since apologised, with Real Madrid and the French Sports Minister joining Mbappe in condemning his remarks.

"I would like to apologise for these remarks, which absolutely do not reflect my views nor my consideration for the player he was and the coach he has become," Le Graët said, as quoted by Goal.

It's unclear when the old photo in question was taken by Mbappe's family, as almost any other young French footballer has always held Zidane in high esteem.

Considered one of the greatest attacking midfielders in history, Zidane was part of the 1998 World Cup-winning squad. He also won the Ballon d'Or award in the same year.

At the same time, Stephanie Rose Bertram has broken her silence over accusations that she tried to have a child with Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappé.

Sports Brief reported that Betram, the former girlfriend of ex-PSG defender Grégory Van der Wiel, has been rumoured to be dating Mbappé in recent weeks.

The Belgian model is understood to have been in Qatar on the eve of the 2022 World Cup final, pitting her rumoured beau's France against Lionel Messi's Argentina.
