FootballJack Grealish Aims Sly Dig At Chelsea Goalie After Crucial Win
- Jack Grealish admits he was surprised Chelsea goalie Kepa did not collect the ball in the buildup to Manchester City’s opener on Thursday
- City emerged 1-0 winners on Thursday to move to within five points of league leaders Arsenal
- Kepa received heavy criticism after the game for his gaffe
Jack Grealish was the first to admit he was a bit surprised Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga did not get to the ball as Manchester City emerged 1-0 winners on Thursday, January 5.
Chelsea went into the game as underdogs, and they were dealt a blow prior to kick off after Mason Mount suffered an injury.
Things went from bad to worse as Raheem Sterling barely lasted five minutes against his former team as he also had to come off with an apparent hamstring injury.
Pep Guardiola’s side were typically dominant in the game, and they eventually made their superiority count, albeit in fortuitous circumstances.

Substitute Jack Grealish was crucial for his side’s goal as his brilliant low cross to the back post somehow found Riyad Mahrez, who tapped in from close range.
Defender Marc Cucurella was particularly guilty of letting Mahrez get behind him, but the lion's share of blame went to Kepa, as many fans believed the Spaniard was better poised to get to the ball.
Speaking after the game, Grealish pretty much threw Kepa under the bus by suggesting he thought the goalie would have made the save.
"When I crossed it I was thinking Erling [Haaland] has got to be somewhere – I’m just hitting the space. And I asked him ‘where was you’ and he said he pulled back.” He said as quoted on Express Sport.
Asked if he expected Kepa to be there when he crossed, Grealish added:
