Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier hopes Lionel Messi will receive a good reception from supporters on his return from domestic football after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi led Argentina to defeat France in the World Cup final via penalties, scoring two goals in regular time while fellow teammate Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick for the losing team.

According to Sportskeeda, Galtier has now confirmed that PSG will not hold any special reception for Messi in front of the PSG supporters at Parc des Princes in honour of Mess’s World Cup feat.

Messi returned to PSG training after festivities in Buenos Aires and was greeted with a guard of honour from his teammates, coaches, and Training Center personnel.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has thanked his Paris Saint-Germain teammates for their World Cup guard of honour for him on his first day back at the club after winning the World Cup, Daily Mirror reports.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to show his appreciation to everyone at PSG as he now says the next focus is now on meeting the club’s set goals for the season.

Messi broke multiple records in the final on his way to finally getting his hands on the World Cup trophy that had previously eluded him during his career.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi has returned to Paris Saint-Germain for training, days after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Argentina beat former champions, France in the final in Qatar.

It was a lovely moment for the former Barcelona captain, who has finally laid his hands on a trophy that has been missing from his cabinet for many years.

According to a photo spotted on Twitter however, Kylian Mbappe's younger brother Ethan did not seem happy at seeing the veteran return to the training ground.
