  • Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in signing struggling Real Madrid star Eden Hazard
  • The Belgian has struggled for form since joining the La Liga champions from Chelsea in 2019
  • Hazard has made only seven appearances for Real Madrid this season and scored only once

Eden Hazard’s nightmare campaign at Real Madrid could be set to come to an end, as Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reported to be interested in the former Belgium international.

The former Chelsea superstar has failed to live up to expectations at the Santiago Bernabeu, since joining the La Liga champions from the Blues in 2019.

According to Sportskeeda, Fenerbahce wants to sign Hazard on loan this January, as they try to offer him an escape route away from Real Madrid where he has constantly struggled.

The Belgian has made just seven appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's team this season, and has only scored seven goals and contributed 11 assists for Los Blancos in 73 games.

The former Chelsea star has a contract with the Spanish giants until 2024, but it is understood the La Liga champions are willing to part ways with the winger as soon as possible.

Fenerbahce could pay Hazard's wages

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce are also willing to pay most of Hazard’s current Real Madrid wages, as they try to secure a loan deal for the 31-year-old winger, The Sun reports.

The Super Lig giants have offered to pay £4.4-million of the £5.3-million he is currently being paid in Madrid, in a bid to convince the La Liga champions to part ways with the winger.

Real Madrid is content to let Hazard make the final decision, because it is believed he does not like the idea of relocating to Turkey.

Hazard criticised for poor performance

Sports Brief also reported on Hazard's disastrous run in Madrid continuing, and fans growing tired of his poor performances.

The Belgian attacker played 68 minutes of Los Blancos' Copa del Rey tie against Cacereno, but hardly touched the ball during his time on the field.

Given that Cacereno are a fourth-tier side, many expected the Spanish champions to breeze by them and record a comfortable victory.
