The Argentine captain was treated to a special reception by his teammates and staff of the club, who gave him a heart-melting guard of honour.
Among the many who showed Messi respect after achieving world glory was Neymar, who could not hide his joy at reuniting with his best pal.
Neymar and Messi's bromance dates back to their time at FC Barcelona, which has only gotten stronger to date.

The Brazilian forward was the first to greet the Argentine on his arrival. The duo were captured in a heartwarming moment at PSG's training centre.
In the video making the rounds on the internet, seen by Sports Brief, a visibly delighted Neymar approached Messi wearing a big smile.
He asked Messi, who led Argentina's World Cup charge: "How is the world champion?" before the duo shared a warm embrace, much to the admiration of the remaining PSG staff, the Indian Express notes.
