A supercomputer has predicted the final Premier League standings, as the 2022/23 season takes shape.

Arsenal are currently enjoying a comfortable lead at the top of the standings after an impressive run of form under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have lost just once so far this term, with their incredible form having them leading the charts with 43 points.

According to data experts at FiveThirtyEight, the north Londoners are on course to win their first Premier League title in 19 years.

The Emirates Stadium-based outfit have been given a 49% chance of winning the league this season and are predicted to end the campaign with 85 points.

Defending champions Manchester City have been billed to finish second with 83 points, with rivals Liverpool sealing a third-place finish with 71 points.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been tipped to finish fourth, with Newcastle United backed to earn themselves a Europa League spot in fifth place.

Chelsea, Spurs miss top four

According to FiveThirtyEight's prediction model, Chelsea are set to end seventh with 62 points, four points behind Tottenham Hotspur.

Brighton and Brentford have been billed to finish in the top half of the table, with Southampton predicted to narrowly escape relegation.

Elsewhere, Wolves, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are all predicted to get relegated to the Championship.

Forest earned a promotion to the English top flight last season after they beat Huddersfield 1-0 in the Championship playoff.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former England international and Arsenal legend, Paul Merson believes the Gunners have only one challenger for the Premier League title this season.

Merson claimed Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham have no chance to win the title this season.

He told Sky Sports that only defending champions Manchester City could get in the way of Arsenal taking the league's top honours.
