According to Sportskeeda, ex-Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is the favourite to take over as Los Blancos manager, if Ancelotti vacates the post at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Also on the list for the Spanish giants is Mauricio Pochettino, who has been without a club since stepping down as manager of Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of last season.

Real Madrid are also considering former player Raul Gonzalez, who played for the club for 18 years, and 2014 FIFA World Cup-winning coach with Germany, Joachim Low.

Ancelotti among Madrid's prolific coaches

Meanwhile, Ancelotti entered the history books as he became Real Madrid’s fourth most-capped manager after the weekend victory against Valladolid, the club's official website reports.

The Italian manager, who has won more than eight titles in two spells with the Spanish titans, managed his 197th game over the weekend.

Ancelotti joins Beenhakker as the Real Madrid manager to have overseen the fourth-most games, as he only now trails Miguel Muñoz (605), Zidane (263) and Del Bosque (246) on the list.

Ancelotti open to Brazil job

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Ancelotti responding to reports linking him to the now-vacant role as head coach of Brazil.

Following the South American country's shock exit from the 2022 World Cup at the quarter-final stage, which led to the resignation of Tite, Ancelotti is rumoured to be the ideal candidate.

The serial winner is currently attached to Real Madrid until next year, and it will take a mightily strong wind to whisk him away from the Spanish capital.
