FootballIvory Coast Striker Scores Unique, Strange and Historic 'Hattrick' in DStv Premiership
- Something unusual has just occurred in the DStv Premiership
- TS Galaxy striker Djakaridja Traoré scored all the goals in his team's 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United on Friday
- While this technically does not count as a hat-trick, it will be a statistic that will go down in history
Here is something that does not happen every day.
The Ivory Coast's Djakaridja Traoré became the first player in the Premier Soccer League to score all three goals in a match and not register a hat-trick.
As reported by IOL, Traore, unfortunately, opened the scoring for the hosts at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night via an own goal as a result of misdirecting a freekick into his own net.
He then set things right two minutes later after converting an assist by teammate Lindokuhle Mbatha. He then stole all the points for the visitors with a goal in the 77th minute thanks to smart work by Kamogelo Sebelebele.
