FootballLeicester Boss Rodgers Explains How Ndidi Can Regain His Place in Starting Lineup
- Wilfred Ndidi has struggled with injuries recently and has struggled to regain his position
- Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers believes the Nigerian international must work harder
- Rodgers said he has seen Ndidi improve and feels he could be starting for the team shortly
The manager of Leicester City FC, Brendan Rodgers has stated that Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi must work harder to reclaim his spot in the starting line-up.
Ndidi has been an important player for the Foxes, since he arrived at the King Power Stadium from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk in January 2017.
But Rodgers has not really featured the defensive midfielder recently, and he was also left out of the squad that chased the Carabao Cup clash against MK Dons.
The 26-year-old came on as a substitute during their loss to Newcastle United last weekend, having struggled with injuries in recent times.

Rodgers told reporters, as per Complete Sports:
“We’ve got a really busy schedule in January. I had a good sit-down with him and really honest conversation, and he knows what he’s been at in terms of the level when I first came in here for a couple of years."
Rodgers ceded that Ndidi was struggling with injury, but also feels he should put in hours on the training field in an attempt to reset away from the team structure.
“I can see that in training; that has allowed him to have that freshness back in his game, so there’s no doubt over the coming weeks he will be ready to start.”
