Emiliano Martinez's outlandish celebrations, comments, songs and attitude after winning the 2022 World Cup has birthed a series of criticisms.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper played an important role in Argentina's World Cup triumph, including a last gasp save, which could have swung the game in favour of France.

He equally made an excellent stop during penalty shootouts while his intimidating figure literally caused Tchouameni to miss the target.

Former France midfielder Patrick Vieira- now coach of Premier League side Crystal Palace - branded the goalkeeper's decision to constantly taunt Mbappe after the Grand Finale as a stupid decision, per GOAL.

The latest to register his displeasure is former Chile striker Mauricio Pinilla, who did not mince words in slamming Martinez.

"Who is to make fun of Mbappé?" Pinilla began as quoted by TyC Sports.

Martinez has been seen holding a baby with the face of Mbappe during Argentina’s open bus parade. At the same time, he also led the chant against the striker in the dressing room immediately after the final.

According to Goal, Viera has now called Martinez’s antics the dark side of football as he tags Martinez’s constant trolling as stupid.
