Nigerian football fraternities have been thrown into deep mourning following the untimely death of former Enyimba and Nasarawa United player Chinedu Udechukwu.
Udechukwu who won the Nigerian Professional Football League title with Enyimba was said to have died slumped and died in Jos, Plateau State.
The news came as a devastating one for all lovers of the Nigerian League considering how popular Udechukwu was in the country before he passed on.
There were reports that he only complained of headache before training which later made him to embark on a journey of no return.

What are they saying?
According to the confirmation by Enyimba, the Aba based side explained that the demise of Udechukwu came as a shock to those at the club.
''Enyimba FC is in grief after receiving the sad news of the death of former player and NPFL winner, Chinedu Udechukwu.''
At the last Nigerian Professional Football League season, the deceased played for Nasarawa United before his contract expired at the end of the term.
Meanwhile, the new Nigerian League season is expected to kickoff in January 2023.
Osimhen linked with EPL
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how a legendary former player at Chelsea FC, Craig Burley has told the Premier League club to make efforts to sign Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
Burley told the Blues to take advantage, if the 23-year-old Napoli striker was to leave the Italian Serie A outfit anytime soon.

FootballQuite a number of clubs are interested in the former Lille of France striker, and Burley emphasised that the combination of Osimhen and Christopher Nkunku in the attack would help the club.
Nkunku is on the radar of the Stamford Bridge club, as he is expected to move during the summer after his Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and Chelsea agreed on the deal.
Burley believes the Osimhen-Nkunku combination would be too difficult for opposition teams to handle.
