"He was even offered to us,” executive board member Axel Hellman said.
The chairman of the club's supervisory board added that he had a feeling Ronaldo was offered to every club playing in the Champions League.
Only one offer for Ronaldo
Despite his agent's efforts to get a new club to sign him, Ronaldo was forced to play Europa League football until his contract was terminated with United.
As a free agent, only one club has made an offer for him. As reported by AS, the Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr, are the only team that have formally put in a bid for Ronaldo's services.
He would earn an annual salary of just under €200 million if he accepted the offer. The move, though lucrative, would mean giving up playing in Europe. Ronaldo has yet to make a decision on his future.
