Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has stated emphatically that his late father, Patrick, did not want him to play football but to become a medical doctor.
Osimhen, today, is one of the best young strikers in the world considering his brilliant performances for Italian giants, Napoli, so far this season in all competitions.
Even though his journey in football was not a smooth one considering how he used to walk around the streets of Lagos when he was young, Osimhen is now a rich footballer.

Belief of most parents
Many parents in Africa and other nations in the world are of the views that the major priority of children is to go to school and study.
That was the view of Osimhen's father who thought his son would have done better in the medical lines.
According to the report on GOAL, the Super Eagles star explained that he chose to play football since he was a teenager.

"Yes, true, he dreamed of a future as a doctor for me. But I wanted this football from an early age, because it's the ball that has always made me happy and helped me forget what was around me.''
