Argentine Government have declared Tuesday, 20 December, 2022 as national holiday for all citizens of the country to celebrate their victory at the Qatar World Cup which ended last Sunday.
Lionel Messi and his teammates started their campaign at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with a defeat against Argentina which was a biggest upset.
They however came back stronger to win their remaining two games and qualified for the knockout stages of the World Cup.
The South Americans against all odds reached the final of the World Cup and beat France on penalties in Qatar.
It was a long day for Argentinian players as they were made to fight hard by France before they won the title.

With 10 minutes to full time, Argentina were leading 2-0, but they allowed France to come back into the game with Kylian Mbappe netting a brace.
Mbappe's brace forced the match into extra time with Messi netting what fans thought would have been the winner for Argentina in the 108 minute, but Mbappe restored parity again and the game went into penalties.
What was the result?
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez saved two penalties as the South Americans won the tie 4-2.
According to the report on GOAL, Argentina Government urged all the citizens to celebrate the players for their impressive performance in Qatar.
Statement made by Government
"That by virtue of the foregoing, it is appropriate to declare December 20, 2022 a national holiday so that the Argentine people can express their deepest satisfaction with the national team, and speak out in favour of sport and the homeland.''

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how hundred of thousands of fans flooded the streets of Buenos Aires to welcome players of the national team following their World Cup triumph.
The Argentina national team arrived in the country in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The team led by talismanic forward and captain Lionel Messi became world champions after beating France in the finals on Sunday.
In photos and videos shared on social media, several fans thronged the country's capital to welcome their heroes.
Messi scored twice in the final which was forced to penalties by Paris Saint Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe, who netted a hat-trick for France.
