Was the World Cup final Hugo Lloris' last appearance on the international stage?
That's a question that still remains unanswered and one that the French captain hasn't contemplated yet.
Lloris captained the Les Bleus side that were defeated in the final, but made history during the game. As noted by Goal, the shot-stopper made his 20th appearance in the final, becoming the goalkeeper with the most World Cup appearances ever.
He previously shared the record with Manuel Neuer (19). Lloris also became France's most-capped player ever during the tournament, making 145 appearances for his country over the years.

While he wouldn't be drawn on the future of his international career, the 35-year-old did admit that the tournament marked a shift towards the younger generation, led by Kylian Mbappe, The Citizen reported.
Mbappe scored all three of France's goals in the final, as he singlehandedly tried to save the defending champions from defeat.
"It's a passing of the baton between one generation, coming to the final stage of their careers, to a new generation led by Mbappe,” Lloris was reported to have said.
While looking to the future, the veteran keeper admitted he needed to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective, before making a decision.
“We’ll see in a few weeks. We’re leaving a tournament like this one drained, and even more so after what happened in the final."

France captain Lloris has highlighted where it all went wrong for the 2018 winners, who were seen by many as the easy favourites after defeating Morocco to reach the finals.
