Kylian Mbappe is one of the stars of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup despite France losing the final 4-2 to Argentina on penalties in a highly dramatic final at the Lusail stadium.

The 23-year-old won the golden boot with eight goals including a hat-trick in the final against Argentina, but it was not enough as his Argentina teammate Lionel Messi carried the day.

The quick attacker won the World Cup in 2018 and played his second final yesterday. He has scored 12 World Cup goals, a number not many legends of the game can boast of.

Rooney advises Mbappe to leave PSG

Kylian Mbappe turned down Real Madrid in the summer to sign a new contract until 2025 with PSG as noted by ESPN.

The club submitted a bid in excess of €200m a year before to tempt PSG to sell him but was turned down as reported by Goal.

Wayne Rooney has now advised the former Monaco star to reopen the door of opportunities to Madrid or his former club Manchester United while speaking to Sports 18 as quoted by Man Utd News.

“I think he needs to leave that club and go to the PL, PSG is a massive club, but I think he’s done everything he can in the Ligue 1, maybe Manchester United or Real Madrid. If he needs to reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo, I think he needs to join Manchester United or Real Madrid.” he said.

Mbappe speaks after World Cup loss

Sports Brief earlier revealed that Kylian Mbappe broke his silence after France World Cup final loss to Argentina on penalties.

The golden boot winner tweeted an image of himself walking past the trophy and captioned it we will return.

At 23, Mbappe can look forward and be proud of playing two World Cup finals, matching Pele's record.
