Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has congratulated Lionel Messi, who led Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar.
Messi netted a brace in the final against France and Angel di Maria was also on the score sheet, but Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick for the defending champions as the match ended 3-3 after 120 minutes.
Both sides needed to be separated via penalty shootout and it was Argentina that won the tie 4-2, claiming the World Cup again after 36 years.
Having won the Ballon d’Or title seven times, Messi needed to seal his remarkable career with World Cup glory - and he did so in style.

Reacting to the moment, Ronaldo was quick to congratulate his former teammate at Barcelona, saying he truly deserves the prestigious prize.
Ronaldinho wrote on his Instagram status:
“Congratulations brother, you deserve a lot.”
The pair played together at Spanish club Barcelona between 2003 and 2008, when the Brazilian was featuring for the La Liga giants.
Meanwhile, Messi capped his international career with the only trophy that has eluded him, after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Argentina star led his country in what was to be his final game, as the South Americans dethroned France to become world champions for the third time.
In photos shared on social media, Messi is seen waving to a sea of Argentine fans as he prepares to hang up his boots for his country.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that Kylian Mbappe warned France would return, shortly after a harrowing World Cup final loss.
Mbappe got a hat-trick against Argentina, but it was not enough to win the game as the Mundial was decided on post-match penalties.
The PSG striker later took to his social media with a defiant message, signifying that Les Bleus would be making their comeback.
