Toni Kroos set to join Man United after disastrous season with Real Madrid

Toni Kroos could finally be joining long term admirers Manchester United for just £50million this summer.

The Germany international agreed to join United from Bayern Munich in 2013 but Real Madrid diverted the move and signed the midfielder in 2014.

According to SunSport, United have been handed a golden opportunity to sign the 29-year-old during the summer window.

Kroos has won three Champions League titles at the Bernabeu since moving to the Spanish capital for £27m after he won the World Cup with Germany in 2014.

The German is still under contract at the Bernabeu until 2022, and according to reports, Kroos wants to reignite his career elsewhere after a disastrous season.

Kroos failed to score a goal for Madrid this season but has made three assists in 21 games for the new Zinedine Zidane's side.

The playmaker has made no secret in the past about his desire to play in the English top flight division despite turning down the chance to play for United five years ago.

David Moyes claimed he met Kroos and the deal was agreed for him to join United while he was manager at Old Trafford.

However Kroos changed his mind and decided to remain with Bayern before he was snapped up by Madrid.

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Kroos and are reportedly lining up a £68m summer bid.

The French champions are willing to offer the German star a 50 per cent increase on his salary next season.

But Man United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is already planning to axe three United stars in the summer to free up space on their wage bill.

Manwhile, legit.ng had earlier reported that Paris Saint Germain are reportedly planning to sign £68 million rated Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos this summer.

The Parisians crashed out of the UEFA Champions League this month after losing 3-1 to Manchester United in the second leg of their fixture.
