Messi hails Argentina character after winning through to World Cup final
FootballMessi World Cup 2022 Final: Argentina Star Banned From Shaving Beard
- Unconfirmed reports indicate that Argentina players believe that Lionel Messi's beard has some magic in it
- Messi has spearheaded Argentina's charge to the World Cup title were they are set to face the defending champions, France
- He has reportedly been banned from shaving his beard for the whole length of time the team will be in Qatar
Lionel Messi's teammates have vowed to win the World Cup for their superstar at whatever cost. From Rodrigo de Paul and Lisandro Martinez saying they will die for him to Emi Martinez putting himself on the line repeatedly, they are in the final of the 2022 World Cup and rightly so.
And even as the countdown towards the crunch tie against France continues, it is now being reported that even as his teammates did/do everything for him, the Paris Saint-Germain star must reciprocate.
He often does reciprocate by pulling them out of the gutter with his performances. Like the outside-of-the-box goal, he scored against Mexico when the whole nation badly needed something to smile about. Or how he dragged one of the best prospects in world football Josko Gvardiol in their semifinal win.
But his time around, as IOL reports, his teammates want more than his performances on the pitch. He has been banned from shaving his beard.

Messi's beard
Normally, that's not how things work. You don't tell a seven-time Ballon D'Or winner what to do. When he asks you to jump your job is to ask 'how high?' But it appears his teammates have a good reason.
Usher Komugisha, a respondent with Al Jazeera, reports that Messi was asked not to shave his ginger beard as they believe it is good luck in their pursuit of the World Cup.
Messi has chance to match Maradona as Argentina reach World Cup final
Football"Lionel Messi has not shaved his beard this World Cup because his teammates would kill him.
A cabala (superstition) within the team believes that his beard is good luck and this time could be the reason they win the World Cup," said Komugisha.
Well, we are 90 minutes away from seeing if this cabala works. And if it does, Messi better start a chain store to sell his beard hair cause let's face it, we could use a little bit of good luck in our lives. Yes?
Thought so too.
Fans react to comments by Qatar 2022 boss
Sports Brief has also reported that past comments made by the 2022 World Cup Organizing Chief Hassan Al-Thawadi have resurfaced a few hours before the final.
Argentina will take on France at the Lusail Stadium with the main storyline being whether Lionel Messi can complete football or Kylian Mbappe can win back-to-back World titles.
In October, Hassain said that it would be special if Messi won the World Cup in Qatar.
