Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham received a warm welcome following his return to the St Andrews to watch former club Birmingham City in action against Reading.

Bellingham, one of England's stars at the World Cup, did not get the chance to say a proper goodbye before leaving to Germany to join the Bundesliga giants.

Two years after leaving the club, the 19-year-old returned to bid the club a proper farewell.

"I never got the chance to say goodbye, until tonight! I’m back to finally say thank you," said the midfielder.

In a video shared on social media, fans chanted and celebrated the teen sensation following his exploits for both club and country.

Bellingham started his career at midlands with Birmingham, playing for the youth teams before graduating to the senior side.

However, his outstanding performances saw him make a move to Germany.

Meanwhile, Birmingham repaid the midfielder's visit with a thrilling victory over Reading in the Championship. A brace from Troy Deeney and Tahith Chong's strike ensured Birmingham won 3-2 at St Andrews.

Bellingham has been attracting interests from Liverpool ahead of the winter transfer window.

Bellingham's value rises

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Jude Bellingham's performance in the FIFA World Cup has once again caught the eye of many clubs, and Borussia Dortmund are set to benefit.

The 19-year-old is contracted to the German side until 2025 but has attracted the interest of numerous clubs. Jude Bellingham has seen his value increase after his stellar performances for England at the World Cup.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all reportedly in the running for his signature. Real Madrid were also keen on the youngster's signature, but are reportedly unwilling to pay the hefty price tag.

With the Three Lions 2-1 down with just a few minutes to go, Kane was given an opportunity to draw the game level, but blasted over from 12 yards much to the agony of English supporters. Jude Bellingham says he sees Harry Kane as a leader of the England team on and off the pitch.

Bellingham was one of the first ones to walk up to the Tottenham striker after the miss, with the 19-year-old now revealing what he told his captain in the heated moment, Sportskeeda reports.
