The duo's dominance has seen them collect 12 Ballon d'Or awards between them, with Messi winning a record seven.
While the two football greats share different perspectives about some aspects of the game, there is one incredible similarity they have.
Back in November, Ronaldo made the headlines - all for the wrong reasons - after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan which led to the termination of his Man United deal.

At the time, the Portuguese star aimed a dig at United boss Erik ten Hag, accusing the tactician of disrespecting him.
"I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me," Goal quoted Ronaldo saying with regard to Ten Hag.
Messi hits out at LVG
It has now emerged that Messi equally dislikes it when he is perceived to be disregarded.
Recently, the Argentine star hit out at the Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal, claiming the Dutchman had shown him disrespect.
The incident is understood to have happened during their World Cup meeting, where Argentina stunned the Netherlands to advance to the semis.
"I feel disrespected by Van Gaal after his pre-game comments and some Dutch players spoke too much during the game," Messi told reporters via ESPN.
Ronaldo excited about Messi
